Advice for success with bfing after EP?

My baby is 3.5 months and I have been EP. We tried lactation consultation, they said he was an imposter. No problem with latch, appeared to suck, but did not transfer any milk. They said he should be able to fb when he was older and to keep offering him the breast several times a day. But between pumping and feeding, I didn't keep that up. So now when I try to bf, he doesn't know what to do. Ironically, because I have streamlined my routine to pump while feeding, he does equate seeing my breasts with eating!  Has anyone been able to bf with older baby and do you have any suggestions?  Thanks!

No luck for me! My baby is 4 months. I have tried BF here and there, but certainly did not try it as often as I wished. Like you, EPing creates a routine that is hard to break. Plus, for me, when I did try, it just brought back feelings of sadness for me. My baby would scream, I would cry. So for me, I have just accepted EPing. My baby is growing, so I feel that is an accomplishment. But I would love to hear anyone else's success stories! Good luck and keep us posted! I have been told that it is possible this late and that some baby's just eventually "get it!"

Same story for me. My baby is 4 months. She had a little trouble latching and sucking, but not terrible. She couldn't transfer the milk. I visited several LC and even got her to latch  and suck fairly well, but she had grown accustomed to the bottle and preferred it. I tried to breast feed multiple times daily for probably 3 months. It's been so hard. She screams and refuses which makes me so sad. I've been exclusively pumping and get a lot of milk so I know that supply is not my problem. My dream would be to not have to pump anymore and just breast feed normally, but don't know how to go about making the switch. Any suggestions???

Same story here. My LO takes a nipple shield once in a while. I just got a carrier so I'll try more skin to skin. Wish I had a summer baby so I wouldn't have to worry about her being cold... but must carry on now
