I EPd for 11 weeks and then transitioned DD back to breast so I can offer a bit of experience in that regard.

The following link has Brest general tips:
http://www.kellymom.com/bf/concerns/baby/back-to-breast.html

I think once a day or less isn't enough for baby to learn to latch easily. I used a medela nipple shield as instructed by my LC. In the beginning I offered twice a day for a week or so and then built up to every feed. At first there was lots of rejection and I only tried for maybe one or two minutes when baby wasn't very hungry. Expressing some milk onto or into the shield helped give her the idea to suck. EPing while trying to learn/teach baby how to bf was rough but she got the hang of it very quickly. In about 4 - 5 weeks she went from EP baby to exclusively BFing. She's almost 10 months now and still nursing strong.

I can give you more details if you like but right now she's climbing me trying to get at the phone lol.

You're doing a great job. Feel free to send me a private message if you like
