Hello! My name is Jeanne and I am new here also. I have successfully used the wonderful advice I've read here to boost my supply. I nursed until my DD was about 5 months old (with some minor challenges). But for some reason, DD just didn't want to latch after that time. I thought it was teething, but she is now one week short of 9 months, and no teeth yet. I have been an EPer since then.
I returned to work full time (to a new management position) when DD was 10 weeks old. Since then,my schedule is pretty full and I was starting to get exhausted between, work, a baby and toddler, and pumping (with all it's cleaning). Plus, I was skipping the daytime snacks I was accustomed to because of meetings and jumping in to help at work because my department is short staffed. I then caught the flu and not only did I drop a lot of weight, but I my supply dwindled down from 25-30 oz/day to <10 oz/day. I used my HUGE freezer stash pretty quickly after that. I couldn't keep up with DD's feedings and had to supplement with 1-2 bottles of formula periodically (but not daily). This went on for over a month.
I then found this message board. I continued to pump at my normal times, every 4-5 hours, even through the night, but I have increased my time from 20 minutes to 40 minutes when I can (mostly at home). I use the time to eat a snack and to read the messages here. Massage and compression toward the end of my pumping session help to empty fully and to squeak out another once or so. I take fenugreek, blessed thistle,
