Question about pump

Hello. I wasn't sure where to put my question, I hope this is an ok place. I have an Ameda Purely Yours that I bought and used when my son was a baby. I'm not pregnant again and planning to do some pumping, but I'm not sure what I need to check on my pump before I start using it again. It's been in my mom's attic for about 5 years, in the carry tote, inside the original box. I haven't seen it yet, my mom just told me the other day she had found it after we looked a couple weeks ago.
So, my question is - what should I check for? Is there a way to make sure it is clean and sterlie? It was a fairly expensive pump, so I'd hate to have to replace it. Thanks in advance for your time.

From what I have heard is that any place that rents pumps should be able to check them for the suction. You should call your LC, or the hospital, and see if they can check it for you, or let you know were to have it checked.
Excellent, thanks so much!
I also just realized that my OP says "I'm not pregnant"...it should say I'm NOW pregnant, lol.
That is great news! Thanks so much!
