Too much milk?!?
Sat, 04-05-2014 - 6:53am

Hi just wanted some advice I am producing a lot of milk-my little one will be 4wks on Thursday she is getting through 3-5oz each feed 2-3hrs-little piggie! I am expressing every 3hrs and producing 6-9oz I am finding that I am putting quite a bit into the freezer to the point we are running out of space for it all!

Can I have so e tips on how to manage this, I know that she will start to increase the amount she is taking bit until then what can I do or should I just keep going?

I am wondering if I get to 3mths of expressing could I then reduce the expressing quickly and then just feed her on the frozen supply?

Thanks Emma x

That's awesome that you are making so much milk!!!

In terms of your first question - are you handling the amount of pumping that you are doing okay? Or do you feel like it's too much? If you are pumping quite a bit, it might be worth dropping a pump and getting some time back. If you're doing fine, I think I would keep going like you're going and build up a solid stash so you can wean early. do you have a deep freezer to store all the milk in? I have one and it was great because otherwise we would have had to room for people food.
