Hey Pumping Moms!

Has anyone traveled with frozen milk? My family is planning a trip to NC in July. My LO will be 9 months then and I’m hoping to be done with pump as I already have 2.5 months worth of frozen in the deep freeze and I make almost double what he drinks in a day. Now I’m starting to worry about how I will make the trip with enough frozen milk for a whole week. My DH and I both want to make the trip with out the trouble of the pump, but I’m thinking having fresh milk would just be easier. Has any one ever done it that might have suggestions?

Thanks!

Are you driving or flying?  My suggestion for flying would be to put it in one of those insulated bags you can get at the grocery store for cold food, pack it with the gel filled ice packed and then close it tight.  I would suggest putting it in your carrying on and not in your luggage as you have a better handle of where its at and everything and you can present it to screeners.  Here is TSA's guidelines on it:

If you are driving, then I would just keep a cooler packed full of ice and/or gel packs and replenish as needed.
