So I EPed with my first daughter and this time wanted to try harder to breastfeed. Well not even a week in and I think I want to pump again. I am torn up again and cringe when it is time to attempt to get her to latch on. I do think she is getting enough since my milk just came in yesterday. I was able to start off with pumping 7 times a day last time

Have you had any sort of consultation with a lactation consultant? It's pretty common to have some pain and discomfort as you adjust to nursing but to be all torn up can be an indication of a poor latch. The LC might be able to show you how to adjust your baby's mouth position so that it is less painful and your nipples can heal. I had cracked nipples at the beginning too, but it was temporary. It does go away as you and your baby get better at the process and more established in your nursing relationship.

I don't know what to tell you. I started visiting this board when my DS went on a nursing strike and I ended up EPing for about 2.5 months. We had nursed successfully for a long time and I hated it. Totally hated it. I wanted to quit ever day and was so very thankful when he decided to come back to the breast. I still pumped at work but wasn't having to deal with the stupid equipment 24-7. I hate washing the parts. I hate dealing with bottle when I went places. I hate feeling like a cow (my own personal hang up about the pump).

Similar situation with me...i ep'd for my 1st for close to 10 months (til i found out i was preggers with #2) enough to get her thru 12mo breastmilk. i had #2 8.5 wks ago. i was determined to breastfeed this one and i lasted a whole 24 hours lol...then i had a mini breakdown and asked for a pump while still in the hospital. so back to ep'ing i go! i dont really mind it too much actually and like you said i like knowing exactly how much she's getting. i look at it like a challenge...how much can i get and how far ahead i can get etc...also, i pump anywhere from 6-9 times in a 24 hr period (i really dont even keep track, just pump every 3-4hrs during the day and every 3-6 at night depending on how baby sleeps) and i am almost 20 feedings ahead in the fridge, so yeah the only thing i can say is keep up the good work either way your lo is getting the best thing you can give her, from your boob or the bottle. :) good luck!
