Deep freeze went out- surprising advice from Ped!

So, my deep freeze decided to freeze up, no pun intended. Along with food, my frozen milk thawed. All is lost, right? Maybe not....

I'm crazy with stress, anger, fear, you name it. I call the ped to verify how long milk is good for after thawed, so I can try to give my daughter SOME of it, so it didn't ALL go to waste (about a 3 month stash, btw) and verbally cry on the shoulder of the ped over the phone.

He asks me if it's warm or still cool. It's cool, I reply. He asked if I had another freezer. I said yes. Move it, he says. Let it refreeze for 2 days, and start rotating supply. Do the "Mommy-sniff-test" with each bag. If it smells sure, toss it, if it smells normal, feed it to her. Only keep it for 3 months, he says.

I let out a big sigh of relief, scrambled to move it asap, refroze everything.. And VOILA! The milk is still good!!! *HAPPY DANCE*

I know! That moment when I first found the thawed milk was HORRIBLE! We've used about 13 bags of the thawed-refrozen stuff now, and DD hadn't had an issue! It's all been good!
