Hi I'm considering Eping ass I have been breastfeeding my lo for 2 months now in absolute agony and see it as the only solution. However, I think I read somewhere that freezing breast milk damages it in some way, I can't remember how, I assume that some of the nutrients are affected somehow, I was just wondering whether anyone knew anything about this? Thanks!

If you are consdering EP'ing over breastfeeding, I would take breastfeeding hands down. It is so much easier to be able to breast feed than to pump.

It can't be damaged much if it is.. The milk the feed preemies whose mom's can't provide milk for them has usually been frozen and pasteurized and is still better than formula.

I think I read somewhere that it loses 40% of its antibodies when you freeze it. But that means it still has 60%, and formula has 0% since they come from your body, so I would agree with the previous poster.

Yes, freezing causes some nutrients to be lost, but it is still better than formula.
