This is probably a basic/simple question, but I'm just curious as to how you ladies handle milk/feedings while out and about (like running errands and such).

In the beginning, I would always have a day's worth of milk in the fridge so that there was milk ready for unexpected hunger--which was really helpful in those early days when there was no real schedule. When I take Katie out, I just throw a little mini-icepack into the bottle pocket of my diaperbag and put a bottle of milk in there, or I use the munchkin bottle cooler (so helpful!). Also, in the beginning when she was less predictable (she's 11 months now, very scheduled) I would always bring one more bottle out than I thought I would need.

In my case I usually feed my freshest milk first. I keep that milk at room temp so if I am heading out I just put enough for her next feeding into a bottle and into the insulated bottle compartment in my diaper bag. If I have to use milk that has been in the fridge I do as Erin mentioned with a cooler pack .Luckily at this point babe will drink milk warm, room temp, or cold from the fridge so I don't have to worry about warming bottles when we are out. As the weather warms up I will have to start using a cooler pack all the time.
