how much milk do i need?

I read somewhere, Kelly mom?, that baby who exclusively drink breastmilk from a bottle do not need the same amount of milk as those that drink formula. can anyone verify this? I am 10 weeks in to eping and producing 32-38 ounces a day , baby is 11weeks and wondering how much I need down the line - Lo is taking in about 24 ounces a day now
Congratulations!!! Good luck with pumping, its hard work but all worth it!
It is true that babies who are formula fed eat less amounts with less frequency, than babies who are fed breast milk be it via breast or bottle. This is because formula is harder to digest than brest milk. Breast milk is custom made for your baby and his/hers specific needs. As baby grows you will need more milk, but babies on breast milk usually top of at 5-7 ounces. My LO is 11 months and usually drinks about 6onces. This is because the composition of breast milk changes with babies development, so it becomes more and more nutritious, unlike formula which stays the same, so you have to increase the amout you feed.
It sounds like you have a great supply! There is a growth spurt at 12 weeks, 6months and again at 9months. So you may see your LO start dirinking more at these times. If you are pumping 32-38oz a day, sounds like you are in good shape. My LO never drank more than 25 ounces per day, I just froze the rest. Every baby is different, you may find yours drinks a little more or less. I will say this for the first 3-4 months my LO drank like it was going out of style!! Then it slowed down eventually. Like I said she is 11months and still only drinks about 25 ounces per day. Hope this helps, and good luck!
