out and about all day?

sorry if this is something that has been brought up before, but I'm fairly new here. I just had my daughter on Easter and we will be making a big move in a few months meaning we will have some all day errand days.

How do you guys handle being out and about while bottle feeding? Do you just pump and feed your baby imediatly, or do you take some along in a cooler? I havent tried feeding her cold breast milk yet, but I dont want to count on her taking to it.

You can take some refrigerated milk and pack it with an ice pack. Or, if you pump fresh in the morning and it's not a hot day, you can just leave the milk at room temperature for up to 8hrs (some sources say 10 hours, but once I had it go bad at around 10hrs). If your milk is on ice and you have access to a sink, you can always run it under warm water for a few minutes to warm it up. Also, we fed my daughter cold milk right from the start of pumping, and it was fine and saved a ton of time and effort since we never had to warm her milk. If you want your baby to drink cold milk, you might consider trying it sooner rather than later. I think there are several ladies on here who don't warm the milk. Congrats on your new little one!

Hi!! And congrats!!

If I am just going to the store or something and my sons feeding will fall at a time when ill be out i just take my freshest pumped milk with me, which is at room temp.
I have a munchkin cooler where I take my bottles of breastmilk when we are out for long periods of time, like this Sunday when we were at the zoo for 6 hrs!! And I bought a tommee tippee thermos where I take boiling water and heat his bottles in there when we are out....because I tried doing the running under hot water and I had two major problems 1. Sometimes there was none around and 2. It took FOREVER to just make the milk not so cold! Ugh! So the thermos is a huge life saver!

Regarding giving your LO cold milk, its really up to you. I know some moms do, but I never had, my son is only 3 months old and I honestly feel guilty giving him cold milk, but thats just me...maybe when hes older!

Good luck!
