Recently used cabbage leaves to help with pain associated with mastitis. Pain was awful and I was ready to call it quits and start weaning. I've decided to keep going and see how things go except the cabbage leaves or maybe the mastitis as well have destroyed my milk supply. Was producing around 40 oz a day and now am around 25 or so for the past 2 days. Iam 7 weeks post have I completely messed up or there hope for restablishing milk supply?

Going back to the basics... Pumping every 2 hours, lots of water eating oatmeal etc.

Everyone knows cabbage leaves are used for weaning. Here's an example: http://www.ehow.com/how_2108233_use-cabbage-leaves-wean.html Since you still have 5 weeks till the 12th week mark you can still work your supply back up. I did it, went from 23oz to 40oz per day after losing my supply to carelessly not pumping enough. I have been losing a little supply recently too, IDK if it's the medicines I am taking, the thrush pain or just simple stress.

You will just have to go back to the basics of pumping, pumping, pumping and power pumping.

Cabbage leaves may be used for easying discomfort and risk of inflammation during weaning, but they do not cause reduction in milk production per se.First and main use of cabbage leaves is helping with discomfort from engorgment, mastitis and clogs during first weeks of breastfeeding, this is traditional use.  I`ve never heard from people without mastitis or other nasty stuff about any ill effect on milk supply.
