Hi all,

I'm mainly a lurker on here but I do find your messages really helpful! I'm 12 weeks pp tomorrow and EPing around 35-40oz a day. However I'm still pumping once in the night and every 2 hours in the day- I'm so scared that if I pump less I'll lose supply! I have noticed that if I go long stretches I produce a lot of foremilk and not

Congrats on reaching the 12 week mark! I just reached it myself. I wouldn't worry too much about losing supply by dropping pumps. It sounds like you are still pumping 8-10 times a day. I dropped down to 5 pumps last week and I haven't seen any decrease in my supply. In fact I was ready to quit when I first started dropping pumps and then my supply actually increased with each pump that I dropped. I think my supply has leveled off at this point. Try it for a week and see how it effects your supply. I really don't think you'll see a big change. I'm thinking of dropping down to 4 pumps next week as I'm heading back to work soon. Based on what I read on this board most people don't see a change in supply until they've dropped down to 4-3 pumps. We shall see ... Good luck!

I agree with pp. You may even see an increase. The fm/hm will work
itself out a few days into the schedule too.

I didn't see a real noticible decrease until I went from 4 to 3.

Good luck!

I'm right there with you I'm at 14 weeks pumping every 2-3 hours or 7x per day, aprox 3-4oz per session. For the past month I haven't had to supplement one drop, but I'm fearful of when LO will jump up to eating 6-8 oz a feed. So We're swimming in milk right now but I keep having visions of the first 2 months where I puttered along at 2-2.5oz a pump and baby ate a lot of formula. He was a full-term NICU baby and force fed via NG Tube 2.5-3 oz every 3 hours. So when he came home my girls didn't have a fighting chance, but they've rallied back. Dropping pumps sounds heavenly but having not produced enough in the past I don't know what to do.

I am at 14pp and I down to 6 pumps a day, making 50-54 ounces each day and that what I was making at 8 pumps. Try dropping to 7 pumps for 2 weeks to see if it will decrease.

Thank you all. Think I'm going to push pumpings back by 15 mins, so every 2h15m, then a bit more etc until I'm doing it every 3 hours. Hopefully doing it gradually will keep supply!

Hello : Wanted to ask this group some questions/concerns I have before I dropped any pumping sessions.. I am currently 6wks pp and have been EPing since wk 1. My supply was gradually increasing and I was pumping about 30-32 oz until the last 2-3 days where my supply has drastically gone up to 40 oz. I used to pump every day a minimum of 7 sessions and the day I had pumped 6 sessions is when I saw the

well since you've noticed an increase you should probably go ahead and keep at 6! if it starts to decrease you still have 6 more weeks left until your supply is set. and it will probably be eassy to get it back up if it does go down until you hit 12weeks. after that it gets harder to build up supply. good luck! keep us updated!
