So painful.... (dumping milk)

I'm currently making around 10 extra ounces a day. I was freezing the milk for awhile (before I was making this much extra). Now we have run out of freezer space, and financially we can't buy a deep freeze at the moment. Plus I don't even know if DD will take thawed milk, or if I want to give it to her when there is the option for fresh. But anyway, we have totally run out of room in the freezer, so I have been (gulp, cringe, and shudder) pouring out the extra milk for about a week now. Isn't that appalling?! It hurts me on the inside a little bit. I looked into doing milkshare for the 200+ ounces I have frozen but then was diagnosed with yeast on my nips, and the LC said I shouldn't share that (obviously). Plus I would have had to pay shipping up front and we just can't afford that right now either. And there are no local options for donation that I've been able to find. It's just plain old painful...but I can't figure out what else to do with it! Thankful to have this problem though...we struggled with supply early on. Just had to share with ladies who would really get it!

have you tried www.hmbana.org/index/locations

Maybe there is a milk bank close to you, or one that will pay for the shipping.

I was in the same boat when I was pumping 5 times/day.

I am pumping 6 times a day right now, down from 7 almost 3 weeks ago. I was going to drop to 5 this week, but decided to wait until I'd been at 6 pumps a solid 3 weeks before doing so. Saturday will be my first 5-pump day and I am SO looking forward to it! The 8-pump days are still so fresh in my mind, so I am REALLY loving the freedom of not having to haul my pump around with me all the time, or be constantly chained to it. Do you think 3 weeks is long enough to go before dropping another pump?

I think it's different for everyone.

I have donated my extra--once on Milkshare.org and once to a milk bank in Austin, TX that takes out-of state donors (I'm in MA and there's no bank here either.)

We also got a deep freeze on Craigslist for $60.

But donating takes time--at least a few weeks--so not sure if this will help you.
