Clogged duct or bruised?

I was in the process of trying to wean, switching from every four hours to every five and I got a clogged duct on my left breast near the armpit area slightly to the right. I have been doing everything: Epsom salt dunking, heating pads, extreme massaging, cabbage and it is still there. I tried a long hot bath with hand expressing. I tried getting my little one to nurse, but that didn't last for more than a few sips. I have tried pumping while almost upside down! I even tried using a golf ball while Epsom dunking in the extremely hot water, but nothing. I do not want to increase my pumps because of my sanity (thus the reason for weaning) and I haven't tried ibuprofen or lecithin (sp?) yet. I am wounding also if maybe it is just really bruised or still a plugged duct. It's a deep one, I have to dig for it. Any advice???

I am currently trying to wean also and I am prone to clogged ducts. As I type my elbows are holding ice packs because I am in pain I am down to 2 10 minute sessions per day. In the past I have used lethicin and it seems to work I just always forget to take it. I just started taking it again today so hopefully I wont get any. I found that a heating pad also works wonders for breaking up the clogg. Its not easy. Good luck!

Thank y'all. The ibuprofen helped and the antibiotics. I then developed a clog on my right side underneath and have been trying to work that one out! I will have to try the lethicin!
