Just wondering is anyone else feeling depressed that's weaning....I know I'm a little sad/emotional about weaning, but not this sad. I think the hormones are getting to me. I am feeling kind of depressed. I was wondering if anyone else feels hormonal. I dropped a ton of ounces going from twice to once per day, and that very first day (Thursday) is when I started feeling this way....generally I am pretty even keeled, so this is wierd for me.

I think that this is 100% normal. Maybe you should just acknowledge your feelings? Exercise and some fresh air would probably be helpful. Maybe you could have some time to yourself? A long soak in the tub to relax? How about going out to lunch with friends?

I actually spent some quality time with my husband! It's not that I need to acknowledge my feelings, honestly, I am already there. I was just looking for commiseration and a gauge of what emotions others were experiencing from the group that is weaning. I have not had these feelings when I dropped other pumps, but going from 2-->1 was a drastic drop in production, so I think maybe that's why this happened.

Yes, me too. The first day that I didn't pump at all I couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. I was SOOOOO moody, and I really could have ripped somebody's head off. I started to panick a little because I thought maybe my thryoid was out of whack again, then I realized it must be the hormones trying to stabilize from the drop in milk production. Now, if I could just get rid of this pesky mommy guilt.......

I'm glad I wasn't around when you wanted to rip someone's head off! One of the moms in my local mom's group reported PMS feelings and a strong craving for chocolate while weaning. Any one experienced that? I guess chocolate cravings would be pretty easy to deal with this time of year! I hope everyone is feeling better soon!!! I warned DH today about hormonal shifts and weaning. I'm prepared!

kkvet-Exercise seems like a dream to me too. I think I might try a soak in the tub tonight, though.
