Hey ladies! I'm looking for some BTDT advice.

I'm wanting to wean by May 1st (DS will be 6.5 months then). Right now I'm pumping 4 times a day. I was thinking I could start weaning on April 1st. Start by going down to 3 pumps for a week, then taking a few days to wean down to two, then decreasing the time on those.

Is a month long enough to wean? Any tips for weaning?

I haven't BTDT, but I searched "wean" for this forum and found a lot of old posts with good info.

Thanks for sharing your schedule! I hope it works for you!

I was reading through the other threads and it looks like it can take 1 - 1.5 months, even longer. Not sure what I'll do if it takes longer than a month. I am going on vacation at the beginning of May and would like to be done by then. But, I guess if I'm not, pumping once or twice a day won't be that difficult. I'd rather take it slower and not have issues with clogs and such.

I started weaning mid-January. I had been at 4 for a couple of weeks, then around the 16th I dropped to 3. I did that one cold turkey. I then started shaving minutes off my midday pump until Feb 5, when I dropped down to 2 pumps. I stayed at 2 full pumps until last weekend when I started shaving minutes off the morning pump, and I am now on day 3 of just pumping one time. I'm only pumping for about 15 minutes now and am shaving minutes off every day, hoping to stop by the end of this month. So far so good. Just massaging a lot while pumping to keep the milk moving around so I don't get clogs despite not pumping until I'm empty.
