This board is wonderful and has given me the encouragement to make it to 7 weeks EP. My milk supply is great at about 40oz or so and am able to freeze about 12 oz a day. My problem are breast infections! In my 7 weeks I've had two and iam pretty sure iam working towards my third right now. I feel like such an idiot. I don't have family nearby so when I do get sick people are taking off work to come drive and help out. I feel like a huge inconvenience to them and I almost feel selfish for wanting to continue this but I don't think it's best. I'm already having anxiety for when I have to call the doc to ask for yet another antibiotic. Hopefully I don't develop a fever and that won't be needed. Ive been crying and upset all morning. Pain with I think a lot of post partum hormones. Not sure how to continue... Ifs it's best for me to start weaning or not. :smileysad: I'm using the Avnet double electric pumping every 3 hours until breast are fully empty. Normally around 15 mins.

have you tried massaging while you are pumping? This helps me quite a bit, and if I feel the slightest clog coming on I make sure to work it out while i am pumping. Sometimes it takes a few pumps before it works out, but it eventually does.Also I think there is a supplement you can take to help with clogs, maybe lecithin?> I am not sure of the name, although I have seen it talked about quite often on here. Good luck, in the end you will have to decide what is right for you.

I had several bad clogs in the first two months of pumping and starting using Lecithin. I haven't had a clog since! It may be worth a shot in your case???

Sometimes when I feel a clog coming on, instead of double pumping I do one at a time. That way I can focus on that one and massage. Also, hottubs always make me let down. I don't know if you have access to one, but maybe if you started to feel like you were getting clogged you could soak in the tub or hottub, then pump pump pump. Trust me, over time it gets easier. In the beginning your exhausted, overwhelmed and in pain. Also at 7 weeks, you might have to try every two hours, then just do like one 4 to 5 hr stretch at night.
