Weaning and the pill?

Anyone tried going on the real pill for weaning help? Not the mini-pill, the real deal. My doc has recommended it because of really crazy cycles (three periods in a month!) He said it wouldn't make my milk unsafe, but would probably cause a supply drop. I wasn't interested in this when he suggested it a while back, but now that I'm weaning, I'm considering. Anyone tried it? Did it help with weaning?

Thanks!

Wow--I was just about to post the same question! I just had my first dr. appt (my girls are almost 13 months), and I told him I was weaning. (I'm down to one pump in the morning; I get about 21 or so ounces then). He told me to quit pumping cold turkey before going on the pill because it would send my body mixed signals? But the LC said that the pill would make weaning easier? Help! I'm caught between two medical professionals! :-)

Any BTDT advice out there?
