My name is Kara and I had my b/g twins on October 30th at just 30 weeks (well, 29 and 6/7 to be exact).

Thank you so much for your reply. By the time I went in yesterday she was already doing better. They said her lung was looking better and the fluid was going down. They are not giving her anything to get rid of the fluid, letting her pee it out on her own, they just reduced the liquids they were giving her. She's back to eating now, though a little less than before, which is a great sign. They are even talking about putting her back on the cannula. Hopefully that's what happens today and it was just a minor incident. I held her for over two hours yesterday and she seemed perfectly wonderful, albeit a little unhappy about this thing back on her face!

I'm glad she was doing better by the time you got to the NICU. It certainly is a roller coaster while you're in there. Lots of steps forward and then back and then forward again.

The 'elephant nose' won't last for long. :)

Kara
Congratulations on the birth of your twins. My DD was born at 33 weeks after my water unexpectedly broke also.

I agree with Jenn, there really is no getting around the mommy guilt. You just have to take it one step at a time.

I am glad to see you daughter is doing better. They will be home soon.
