If you're combining work and breastfeeding, you'll need to find a place to pump during the day, preferably with your supervisor's help.

When expressing milk at work, privacy is of the essence for moms, especially for those who have a bit of difficulty letting-down.

Where do you pump when you are at work?  Do you have a specific room reserved for nursing moms? Do you have an office door that locks?  Where are you most comfortable pumping while at work?

I must be going nuts!  I swear I answered this post last week!

I was fortunate enough to have an office with a lockable door to pump in both times. I did share an office the first time, but my officemates gave me time alone at pumping time :)  I pumped better when distracted, so I usually got online while pumping.

There is a pumping room but if that is in use I go back to my office which I share with four (all female) co-workers and use a nursing cover while sitting at my desk. I also pump in the car, usually as I am driving home.

my baby hasn't been born just yet (soon!) but i will be back to work in may. our building allows us to use an empty office suite with window treatments and locking doors. i will have to coordinate times with my work friend, but it's nice to know we'll have a designated space for pumping. lydia, i like the idea of pumping in the car. i currently take the bus (i work downtown) so that won't probably work, but i'll definitely keep that in mind if i start having to drive! (ps, hi lydia!!) :D

Hi, Diane! Glad to see you on this board!

At least 2 others at work pump while driving, LOL. Usually if I tell someone, I get a strange look and and asked 'is that safe?'...Just FYI there is a post, I think on here, on how to safely pump & drive. Very helpful. I can totally see how being on the bus would make it difficult to pump on your way to or from work. Bummer.

Lots of helpful tips on this board!
