back to work in a couple of weeks and have questions

Hi,

I am going back to work in 3 weeks (sob) and my DD will be 10 weeks old. I've been fortunate in that I have a very good supply and we haven't had any latching issues from the beginning. Unfortunately, pumping at work really isn't an option for me. I plan/hope to pump in the morning, after work and at night to have enough for the next day. My question is, first of all - does this sound feasible? And if so, how should I go about getting my breasts used to this wothout painful engorgement? Or is that just going to happen? I'm really nervous about all of this and I'm dreading going back to work...

Welcome! I'm currently posting on my iPad, so I don't have my fancy welcome blinky or all my links. I'll officially welcome you when I'm on my laptop :)

I want to ditto akhtarsa that you do have the right to pump at work. If you share a little about what you do, perhaps we can brainstorm together and help you figure out how to make it work.

The general rule of thumb is pumping every 3 hours or so while separated to maintain your supply. I fear also that your supply will suffer if you are truly unable to pump during the work day when your little one is still so young. If she were 6 months old or older, it might work out ok, but at less than 3 months (the time when supply is regulating) its a real risk.

I'll come back on the laptop and post some more thoughts.
