Spare tubing?

I have one set of tubes, but I have two sets (a total of four) of breastshield/valve/membrane thingamahoosiers. I tried to find an additional set of tubing at BRU and they told me they don't sell it.
I use one pair of tubes and shields, etc each day and I wash it/steam it all each night.

Do you wash & sanitize your tubing every night or am I being overly cautious?

Also, my PIS is one that was given to me by a friend. When DD was born I got all new tubing, faceplate, parts, etc. and used the pump for her with no problems. The lady at BRU told me that was not okay because bacteria can get back inside the motor and stuff. Do I buy a whole new pump now???

I'm already having a hard enough time pumping at work, schedule-wise. This is really stressing me out!!

Great! Thank you so much for the info. Sterilizing those things was a huge pain.

I only wash the tubing when it seems to need it. Actually I think it stays cleaner if you don't wash it too often, because the washing process gets so much water inside that is hard to get out, and moisture leads to mold, bacteria, etc. I just replaced my tubing because it was looking a little questionable, and I got it from this web site: http://mybreastpump.com/medelareplacementpartspage.html

With my FB I used a pump borrowed from a friend. I sterilized the tubing with rubbing alcohol before I started using it and then with the steam bag before I returned it. I never touched the faceplate as far as sterilization.

This time I bought a barely used PIS and I replaced the tubing. I have yet to re-sterilize
