Tough situation! My little one reverse cycled and still nurses a lot at night even now. She wouldn't take ebm at all after 7 months. At 11 months I was in the hospital overnight for surgery, and a week later another night bc of pain issues. V was home with DH and continued to refuse ebm while I was gone. She was fussier than usual, but she realized I wasn't there, so she managed with DH. I bet DS will be ok, even though he won't be thrilled ;) unfortunately it is hard to prep for the situation bc babies seem to know instinctively when momma is around!

My pump is still plugged up under my desk. It's my security blanket too. ;)

Anyway, is there any way DH and DS could go with you? I've taken Peter to a conference and my mom came along to keep him during the day. In June, we're all going to New Orleans to a conference. That way nights aren't miserable for everyone...and you don't have to worry about him.

We had actually talked about DH and DS coming with me to the conference initially but now that reservations are made it turns out that DH's parents are going to swoop in for a few days to "help out" while I'm gone.

My daughter is terrible about wanting to comfort while I am there. I know she is nursing for comfort and will scream if I don't let her. However I work at night and when I am not here she will go to sleep without me. It might take a little longer but she does it. She definitely knows that I am not there and dhe needs to get comfort else where.
