Trying to stop lactating

I have been only giving my twins expressed breast milk so I have a huge supply. I have been trying to stop pumping now for 6 wks I have gotten down from 10 oz each breast down to 6 oz each breast. I need to be done by mid march due to I do not have enough time to pump anymore. I'm wondering if anyone has tried taking the bit b6 200mg for 5 days to dry up? Does it work and is it safe to still give my babies the breast milk while taking it?

I think I would just keep cutting back gradually, then. I meant to say, sage is supposed to decrease supply, and decongestants impact supply too.

Have you used cabbage leaves topically at all? Putting fresh cabbage leaves on your breasts can help relieve the pressure and dry you up faster. You just stick them inside your bra and leave them on the skin for a while.....longer to dry up, shorter times just to relieve engorgement and help you stay comfortable.

I only pump for 10 min and I have been slow decreasing the amount and the time I pump. With my daughter that is what I did to stop and it only took my a month. I have a much bigger supply this time due to the twins. If I don't empty my breast enough I get plugged ducts and I don't want to get mastitis .

I have only worked with stuff to *increase* supply, so I don't know much about stuff to decrease it. I hadn't heard that Vitamin B6 decreases supply.

How have you been decreasing thus far? How many times a day do you pump? Have you been cutting back the duration of your sessions? I would probably decrease the amount you're pumping by .5-1 oz per breast/session every 5-7 days.

I haven't heard of any concerns with Vitamin B6 in the milk.
