Parents succeeded in petitioning Disney to pull an episode of "Jessie" where a character with a gluten allergy was portrayed in a negative light, and was bullied over his allergy.

When mom Amy Raslevich saw the episode with her two children who both have Celiac disease, she was appalled and her kids were very upset. "There were tears in my daughter's eyes, and my son's fist was clenched," she told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Raslevich started a petition on Change.org on Thursday in an attempt to convince Disney to pull the episode titled "Quitting Cold Koala." She explained how her kids are often ostracized because of their condition that limits their diets and how Disney poorly portrayed the issue.

I'm glad that they spoke up, from the clips I saw it was an awful message to send to children.  What do you think about it?

So Disney can portray parents as stupid or weak and that is okay just as long as they don't bully other children-right? I don't support Disney at all. Their shows are dark and twisted. They portray sarcastic children as heroes. I don't see where a petition is going to change them.

I'm glad they decided to pull the episode.  It's hard enough for kiddos with food allergies not to feel left out.  They certainly don't need to see that kind of bullying on TV about food sensitivities.

Yes, I cannot stand how the Disney channel (and Nick too) portrays disrespectful brats as heroes. Disney lost my respect a long time ago, so I'm really not shocked by anything they do. I don't think a petition will help either.

I am glad to hear they are doing something good like pulling that show. I am not a Disney fan to begin with as I agree with one of the other posters that Disney movies are often too "dark".
