Especially with being outside during the summer, you aren't always in the best or convenient place to test your child's sugar level or to give them insulin.

I don't worry about it. It is a normal part of our lives so I treat as such. Of course this opens us up to comments but so far that has only happened a couple of times.

Good for you! The comments can always be used to educate others about diabetes, I would hope that people would be understanding.

You know when Ashleigh was first diagnosed we use to go to a restroom or go to the car to give her injections. then realized this is stupid! We can't be hiding everytime she has to take insulin or give herself a shot, it's nothing to be ashamed of.
