Thank you! Leo decided to come Saturday morning instead of Monday. He had his procedure yesterday which went great, but now he's struggling a bit. They think he may have an infection and already have him on antibiotics. They had to put him back on prostoglandin (?) and put a tube down his throat. To some degree, an infection would be a better diagnosis, means the heart is doing alright. So, now we're just waiting. I'm home after 3 days in the hospital and panicking because I'm not right there with him. Not much I can do but wait, though. Thank you again.

Talked to the nurse again tonight. The cardiologist doesn't think it's an infection, though they'll know for sure when they get the blood tests back. Apparently, it may just be Leo's heart trying to readjust after the procedure. Any good thoughts and prayers would be welcome.

Saw him this morning. He had a rough night but is improving as of this afternoon. It looks like there is an infection, but luckily they had him on antibiotics early and by tomorrow they'll know exactly what bacteria they're fighting so they can give him specialized antibiotics. So far today he's gone from 100% oxygen down to 50% and he's maintaining his saturations with the drop, so yay! He's also maintaining his blood pressure at the moment. He's making baby steps, but they're in the right direction and that's what matters. Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts.

Congratulations on Leo's birth! Sending you lots of (((HUGS))) and P&PTs, it's got to be so hard not to be with him.

Congratulations on his arrival! Recovery can sometimes have some bumps but it sounds like he's headed in the right direction. Post an update when you can, and don't forget you are also recovering from his birth. It's easy to forget that part when caring for a baby in the hospital!

He's still doing well. They took him off the nitrous oxide (had it on to relax his lungs) and today they're planning to take him off the epinephrine (sp?). If he can hold his blood pressure on his own, then tomorrow is the big day and they'll be taking him off the prostoglandin (sp?) to see if his heart is ready to take over and do what it's supposed to do. Holding our breath and praying. :)

He's still stable, they haven't had to turn the prostins on again, yay! Now we're down to weening him off the oxygen. The nurse says that can take anywhere from 2 days to 3 weeks depending on the kid. He's at 60% oxygen and holding his own with his sats and such, so I'm hopeful he might be home in 10-14 days. Fingers crossed. They aren't changing his oxygen levels for the rest of this weekend, I don't think. They've been changing so much on the little guy since Tuesday that they'd rather give him a day or two to just chill out. Here's hoping and praying things keep heading in the right direction!
