What types of holiday traditions do you have in your family?  Do your kids look forward to them as much as you do?

My holiday traditions have been hit kind of hard.  My husband had a knee replacement on the 10th and with all the pre-op, hospital stay, and now rehab, I am way behind.  We have a bed put up in my living room for my husband so I really don't have room for my regular tree which is usually decorated with a ton of Coca-Cola and Charlie Brown/Peanuts ornaments.  Instead, I have an inverted tomato cage that has geo deco mesh swirled around it and LED lights on the inside.  We will be having Christmas dinner here at my house and everyone will come.  My oldest grandson recently sent me a text with a picture of those tins of Danish Butter Cookies you see this time of year.  It said something to the effect of going to his grandma's house and being so excited when he saw those tins, only to open them up and find sewing supplies.  Naturally, I got them all their own tin of cookies this year :)  I did manage to get my yard decorations out - Charlie Brown, Snoopy on his decorated doghouse, a Christmas tree, and a mailbox which says, "Merry Christmas from the Roe Family."  Well, to blame everything on my husband's surgery isn't entirely correct.  I don't think that one of my traditions is exactly planned or something that I should strive to repeat and that is that I'm usually down to the last wire when it comes to being ready for Christmas.  I hope you all have a very happy and blessed Christmas and New Year.
