I'm not sure what the answer is, but it's something you might want to consult with a tax accountant or someone in your local aid office. I could see that income coming into play when it comes to how much assistance they will provide, do you know they calculate it now?

I am honestly clueless about all of that. Most of paperwork for anything like that is going to probably be very involved. I hope you find some good answers, but like Melissa said, it might be wise to start with a tax specialist or an attorney.

Thank you both. Waiting tohear back from an attorney my mother in law works with. Will update if I get some answers. Melissa- exactly. I dont want it to get in the way of services he may be eligible otherwise. I think that is the purpose of the special needs trust though.

I'm in the process of meeting up w/ a lawyer to set up a special needs trust. All the info I find out I will post! It will pertain mostly to the state of FL but the major estate issues should carry over.

I need to update my signature! My little Maddie is 7 1/2 years old now. Probably should update the picture, as well. ;-)
