Totally Frustrated

My name is Heidi and I have a daughter 4 1/2 with Hypotonia, no other symptoms. She went thru therapy and crawled at 15 months and walked at 19 months and is doing great. All testing came back normal for metabolic and muscle disorders.

Now my son, born with no obvious hypotonia , not a "floppy baby", started presenting with low tone when he wasn't interested in rolling over, pushing up etc by 8 months. I immediately requested for PT. He is now 13 months, still not crawled, can sit up on his own but really not interested. He will stand holding on, but really has NO motivation, and I'm so frustrated. It's like he has given up.

I don't get it. If something isn't brought to him, he just figures, oh well. I put him on his back now hoping he would roll or try to crawl to a toy, and nothing.

I'm super frustrated, mad, selfishly wondering why me? (I know that's awful)....but I just don't know what is up.

We go to PT now and he just cries the whole time, then when we leave, he is happy and smiling.

I've just had it, I don't know why he isn't interested or if this is part of the hypotonia.

I really just needed others to hear me that understand where I'm coming from, because most moms don't.

Hi Heidi, welcome to the board. I'm sorry that your son is interested in PT or motivated to do more, that's got to be so frustrating for you. Did his therapist offer any suggestions to it?

Hi, and welcome to the board!

My son (who is 8 years old now) was similar to yours when he was a baby.

I remember feeling like Aaron would never sit up or hold his own bottle.<A href="http://s218.photobucket
