Happy Halloween, everyone!  How will you be spending the day/evening?

Happy Halloween!  For us, trick-or-treating has been postponed until Monday, so we won't be doing much today.  I finally took Ginny for a much-needed walk after going stir-crazy for a couple of days, and now I am going to run a couple of errands, but that's about it.  I don't know what I'm making for dinner since the stores don't have any meat or anything right now, and everything I had in my freezers has to be thrown away.  I had everything to make baked ziti but Lucas and I ate the mozzarella cheese last night so as not to waste it.  The power came back on a few hours later, so it would have been fine, but oh well.

Oh, what a bummer that you lost all the food in your freezer.  And to not be able to buy any right now? Ugh!  I guess there are worst things, but what a bummer.  How did Lucas deal with the storm?  I was just thinking about how much anxiety my kids would have with it and I know Lucas deals with that form time to time too.

I'm glad they postponed Hallween for the area.  I'm sure it would bum out a lot of kids to miss out completely!

Lucas was pretty nervous about the storm for the couple days leading up to it.  He's always been such a worrier.  Once the tree fell, we were pretty much all terrified!

I'm glad the kids will be able to trick or treat.  It will be nice to see some happy faces since right now everyone is pretty much stressed out and miserable.  Our power went out again last night, but fortunately they were able to get it back up within a few hours.  There are still a lot of people in town with no power, so I feel pretty fortunate.  Actually, I'm starting to feel a little guilty!  We're having a heck of a time trying to get the fallen tree removed.  We had someone come this morning, but apparently the tree is putting too much pressure on our neighbor's roof, so he has to rent a crane to lift it off.  I need that tree taken care of it so I can get the satellite dish fixed and have tv again! Tongue Out  At least we're getting lots of use out of our Netflix account!

I can't even imagine what everyone is going through. Every time I pull up the news, my heart just breaks. I can imagine that the guilt would set it... but man, you all are lucky! I hope the tree is taken care of soon... thank goodness for Netflix! :)

Thanks, Kristy.  I see in the news that they are expecting another storm later next week, so we are trying really hard to have someone get the rest of that tree taken down before that happens.  I am sure with snow on it and wind blowing the rest will come down right on my house.  The bummer part is that I found out today that the insurance won't cover the removal of the rest of the tree, only the part that has already fallen.  I think that's crazy since the tree is clearly damaged and ready to fall.  They said if it does come down during the next storm then they will cover it.  What's wrong with this picture?
