*sigh* Wyatt had his 6 month check up today. It was just with a nurse and let me say I did NOT like her at all. Wyatt is 16 pounds even and 25 inches long. Small but not bad and he is growing so that is good. But I guess there is some formula that they use to calculate how much weight they should gain between appointments. And Wyatt was something like 0.08 of a pound short of the minimum gain. Most likely not a big deal. I am trying not to freak out because they still have not proven that he has a metabolic disorder. So the nurse tells me that protocol requires her to put in an email to Wyatt's doctor to let him know that Wyatt did not gain enough weight. Then he is suppose to call me some time next week to let me know what if anything he wants to do. I am guessing at most he will have Wyatt come in for an extra weigh in between his 6 month visit and his 9 month visit. But of course my fear is he will go into hyper drive and order a bunch of tests we have probably already run or want to put Wyatt on that really expensive metabolic disorder formula. UGH! I just don't think he needs it. Wyatt has moved up from the 3-6 month clothes to the 6-9 month outfits. I had to buy a bigger snowsuit because the first one I bought won't last the entire winter. He is hitting all of his developmental milestones on time. Wyatt is a happy baby. I am sure he is totally fine. But after everything we have been through it is hard not to worry. So I guess between now and when ever they weigh him again I better find ways to fatten the boy up! Put a little winter weight on the baby bear!

I'm sorry they're fretting over such a tiny amount. I hope his Dr will be more reasonable. Some nurses seem more by the book than others. The WIC people love Tyler's weight chart, it's up, down and all over the place. Looks like an irregular heartbeat. I wouldn't worry much about 1/2 a pound. Hopefully he'll have a growth spurt soon and get there. Some kids are just petite too! There's a reason for the percentiles. Some kids are at the top and some are at the bottom, but that's how the chart is made in the first place. :)

I keep trying to remind myself that Bryan was always very low on the growth charts when he was Wyatt's age. And look at him now! At 12 years old he is as tall as I am. HA HA HA

I worry because there is still question as to whether or not Wyatt has a metabolic disorder. But one thing I have learned the hard way is to not let them bully me into anything. Even when they threaten death. UGH! My mommy instincts have been right so far. Thankfully Wyatt has a very laid back doctor. Hopefully like you said he will look a little cross eyed at the nurse for even emailing him. LOL

I have to admit I do find it a tiny bit funny that Bryan is at the very top of the chart for kids his age. But Wyatt is down towards the bottom. LOL But like I said Bryan was little when he was that age. Hello I am only 5 fee 2 inches tall! How big do they really expect my children to be?! he he he
