Kids on Facebook??

Sometimes it concerns me that so much personal information is out there on the internet about so many people. Now Mr. Zuckerberg wants our kids on there too??

Mark Zuckerberg Wants to Friend Your Kids on Facebook

This child-less man is thinking about fighting the law that protects our children from pedophiles, etc. Do you think our kids could be protected enough to be allowed free reign on FB? I read somewhere that there are protections in place for the 13-16 or 13-18 year olds and that he would put more controls in place to protect the younger

Jacob has asked me for a FB page but I've said no. I personally don't think kids that young should be on Facebook. I don't know who he would even communicate with on FB. My rule continues to be 13 and even then I will monitor it very closely.

Devin got a FB page last year at 12, and the twins have been asking for it. I'll probably let them have one in the next year or so, and will be monitoring it.

Ben didn't get his FB until he turned 13 and I monitor it VERY closely. Alex bugs me occasionally about getting one but I've stood firm on the 13 age limit.

Ben knows to never friend someone he doesn't know. He knows I will block friends if they are using foul language, etc. I read his page just about every day before I log onto my own and many of his friends are on my friends list too. For me, there is a reason FB says 13.
