School starts for my boys in 3 weeks and I'm starting to feel some anxiety about Jacob making friends at school.

I don't worry too much about them making friends. Ben is going into 9th grade and taking all honors courses again. That group of kids tends to stay pretty constant from year to year. Some of his circle of friends are kids he went to preschool with.

Alex tends to be more social by nature and makes friends easily. Again though, he is going into 6th grade and it is unusual that he doesn't have someone in his class that he hasn't known from before. He also is entering the Accelerated program this school year and knows a good portion of those kids already. His circle of friends includes kids he's known since preschool also.

As far as Than goes.........I think he has my social butterfly gene and is a friend to everyone. LOL I am a little anxious about him starting pre-K and possibly not knowing anyone. There is one little girl from preschool and our sitter's daughter are both starting this year, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed he is in class with at least one of them (there are only 3 classes). I think a familiar face is always nice on the first day of school. I will probably work on setting up playdates for him and try to foster the same type of friendships the others have.

Lucas has had the same core circle of friends forever, so I don't worry too much about him.

Cute about your nephew!

As for your boys, they don't seem to be too worried about it. I would just let it ride and once school gets started maybe you could get an outing or two together with a couple kids.
