I saw this article on the Today show site and thought it was interesting.

I don't think it is a big deal at all. I probably wouldn't love the thought of my teen boys wearing nail polish but at a young age I think it is just silly and fun. I especially think this is true if they see mom wearing nail polish and just want to try it. Kids are naturally curious!

I've actually painted my 3 year olds toenails and finger nails in pastel shades...only b/c he asked me to b/c he saw me doing it so he wanted to too.

I worry way more about the adults who feel this needs to be a national issue when there are so many more important things to deal with in this world. I can't think of one good reason this ad should even be up for discussion. Like Stephanie said...kids love to paint anything! So what's better than actually getting pain on yourself? How many kids do you know that have colored themselves with markers? Same thing if you ask me.

And yes Kristy, if Ben suddenly came home at the age of 13 and said he was going to paint his nails, I would definitely be asking some questions! LOL

I agree, Lisa. It always amazes me why such little things are blown up to be such a big deal. There are for sure more important things going on in the world.

Jessica,

Kids DO love to paint EVERYTHING! The back of Landon's bedroom door is proof to that! LOL!

Sorry that was Jessica who said about painting everything.

And btw I had to share that yesterday right before leaving for work, I walked into my hall and found little black cats stamped all along my wall, woodwork, bookshelf, and into the bathroom (door, sink, wall, and lightswitch). When I found the little 4 yo "artist", lo and behold doesn't he have little black cats stamped up and down his arms and on his face. To me, it isn't any different than the nail polish and just as hard to get off!!!!! LOL Thanks goodness for babywipes and magic eraser.

When Alex was in maybe 1st or 2nd grade, for whatever reason,
