How do you celebrate Valentine's Day with your kids?

I'm such a party pooper...........Valentine's Day is overrated if you ask me. When they were/are little and they do parties at preschool and school, it's one thing. But other than saying "Happy Valentine's Day" to them this morning, I probably won't do much today. To me it is a grown-up holiday if anything..........love, romance, etc etc. I'm hoping not to have to deal with that with the boys for a few years yet. LOL

Some years I've bought the boys a little candy on Valentine's Day, but this year I just gave them cards.

I forgot to add they we get a box from my MIL, so I don't bother buying much else for them.

I guess I'm a total dork! I really like Valentine's Day... and don't ask me why! I never had a good one as a teen/early adult but that hasn't stopped me from loving it now. I do small little things to make the day fun. I made heart-shaped pancakes for breakfast and then filled a little gift bag with fun goodies for the boys. They each got a little bit of candy and some Valentine pencils to bring to school. I also got them each a balloon at the dollar store. Really simple things, but fun! One year I made a big fancy dinner and lit some candles. It was cute and fun! Larry and I don't do much for one another... which I guess is odd since it is a holiday about love... but our anniversary is so close behind Valentine's Day that we just exchange a card and small thing of candy and that is about it.
