What are your boys up to these days?

How is school going?

Are they currently involved in any extra-curricular activities?

Ds is struggling again in school. He was my straight A kid until high school. He is not failing anything but C's don't fly with me and he has a D. I want to rip his head off but it won't change anything. He will be missing jazz band if he doesn't get his act together. He is in scouts, band, jazz band and hockey.

Hi Romona :) I was just wondering what grade your DS is in. I remember my husband telling me that he was not an ideal student. He had a hard time staying focused and his attention was always out the window ... literally. I fear my boys might be the same. I try to help them along with their study habits. All in all, my husband turned out just fine. He wasn't a doctor by any means. He was a fire fighter and a self-taught musician. Couldn't spell, but he worked hard and looked after our family just fine. I'm worried too about how my kids will do in school. Hang in there.

He is a sophomore. He is taking Honors Englisn, Honors Chem, AP Euro. History, German, Algebra with Trig, drivers ed (soon gym), and band. So, he is taking tough courses, but still no excuse.

Sorry to hear he is struggling, Ramona. That has got to be frustrating. Has he had to miss any Jazz band activities?

My boys are doing pretty good. Jacob is hanging in there with school. Doing better than I hoped, but he struggles a bit. We just signed him up for a Nerf gun league that he's just loving. Cooper is struggling. He doesn't want to do any extra activities but I'm pushing for them all the time. Hoping something catches his eye soon. Landon is doing pretty well. We've had a few adjustment periods with pre-k but overall he's doing well. I just signed him up for spring soccer and he's excited about that.

No, but has missed some hockey. His issue is he NEVER studies, cracked a book, etc... until high school. He aced his way through JR high. Well, now in these tougher classes, he is lost. He has no clue how to study, how much time to do something, etc...

Oh, gotcha. Not knowing how to study could be a problem for sure. Hopefully he figures it out soon. How frustrating!
