Fighting the baby urge

There are so many people pregnant or having the most adorable, sweet babies around me. My husband is pretty sure now isn't the time to have more, especially since we have our third just getting out of our bed and our 10th anniversary coming up.

But.. Babies are cute.

How do you resist that sweet baby magic?

LOL, I didn't. I'm 18wks with our second :) But this will likely be our last and we will do something so we don't have to worry about birth control after we know for sure we are done. So we won't be doing anything permanent until close to 2 years after this baby is born, hehe.

Congratulations! I've been fighting the baby urge for 4 years now. I'm actually not fighting the urge, I'm fighting DH who doesn't want more. But it gets easier and easier to be all done. My youngest if 5.5 years old and they can do things alone now that they couldn't do before. We live 2 blocks from their school, so on weekends they can ride their bikes there and I don't have to go.

OMG, I can totally relate!! 2 of my close friends are pregnant. My SIL is pregnant. Soon there will be babies everywhere and I know I will be struggling with the "baby bug" big time.

I am grateful that DH got the "big V" years ago or else I would be seriously tempted to have one more. And I do know that long-term, it was the best decision for our family (and finances, LOL).

I heard some wise words once- "Ask yourself, do you want another child or a baby?".

For me it's easy.

I didn't either. I'm 35 weeks with this one but it is our last. We had thought we were done at two (well DH thought we were done), then last year I missed a period and DH was disappointed when it arrived. That did it. We gave it until he turned 50 to get a third and it worked. I think it will be easy to resist anymore. It's nice when they get independent and this pregnancy has been harder then the others.

I think the baby urge is natural.

I find that I still have baby urges, but they are helped by friends having newborns. I get all of the fun without the over the night care requirements. I think the thread helped a lot though! Thanks for the responses :) !!
