just wanted to anounce it to the world! lol

my only update is that we lowered his crib today. he hasnt learned to pull up yet but im too scared he will learn how to in his sleep and fall down...

speaking of falling down :-( i was nursing him in bed like a week ago and he was towards the outside edge of the bed. i never ever fall asleep when he is like that but this time i did and although he couldnt roll off because of the pillow behind him, he managed to crawl off. i heard a boom (1 liter water bottle broke his fall) and then delayed crying. DH flew, like superman, to my side of the bed to see if LO was ok. he was absoloutly fine, just scared out of his wits!

anyway, that episode is what frightened me into lowering the crib because he is such a curious lil guy he might experiment during one of his night wakings.

speaking of night wakings...i have come to accept that his STTN was just a 5 month phase and that waking up 3-4 times a night is my new reality, lol.

i was advised by one of DH's girl friends, who is a mommy as well, to let him CIO. to be exact, when i told her that he wakes often during the night she was unfased. then DH made a comment about me being run down from running to his room so often and she had a look of horror on her face and exclaimed, "you get out of bed every time! just let him cry, nothing happens if you let them cry, he will just go back to sleep."

i didnt argue, i just told her that i dont feel comfortable with doing that and she shrugged and dropped the subject.

how could i let my darling cry alone in the dark? he's my lil shnookum cake!

UGH. People have been telling me the same thing about Ali--just let her cry. She'll get over it. *sigh* She's getting up 3-4 times a night lately and it's tough on me too but it is what it is. This won't last forever. I think it's happening largely b/c of teething. She's been drooling and pushing her tongue against her gums. 1 tooth has popped through and I feel another one about to. I hate it when people try to make me CIO with her. I mean, when I hear her wake up and she's just whining, not crying, yes I'll wait a minute or 2 to see if she settles herself down. And a lot of times she does. But I'm not just going to lie there while my little one cries and cries wanting her momma. :-( That's horrible!

Oh and if it makes you feel better, when Ali was about 5 months old she and I were laying in my parents' couch. She was on the outside which I didn't normally do (don't know why I did this time). I dozed off, she squirmed, and on the floor she went. She was fine. She only cried for a second and probably because she was startled. But I felt like a horrible mom! hahaha

Aww, that's so sweet! As for the falling, it happens. I'm glad he's OK. ((hug))
