Potty Training HELP!

So here's the start of this story. In September when we went to Italy Samantha decided she was ready to be potty trained. She used the potty all over Italy and even got up at 4 am to poop on the potty. Return to home and she's done. Has zero interest. I switched her to cool alert pull-ups and it didn't make a difference. I've tried buying cool underwear which she loves as she pees right through them and asks for another pair. I wish at this point she had never shown an interest. At least then I could say well she's just not ready. Now though I feel like it's turning into a power struggle. I'm trying to be patient.

Has anyone else been through this? She's 2.5 now and Dominic was totally trained at this point. Of course his personality is so much more laid back.

The obvious answer is you have to move to Italy. ;)

When she pees through her undies, do you give her another pair? Do you tell her she only gets these undies and after that its pull ups?

Maybe you need to stop trying all together for a while. Don't even say the word potty. Change her pulls ups just like you did before PTing started.

Good luck!

From everything I've read, the /5 years are the hardest part. Like 2.5 or 3.5 and so on. The Ames & Ilg books are good with describing typical behavior and how in the 1/2 year, kids experience disequillibrium, so what you think they've learned, they haven't.

Or you could just move to Italy. :)

Move to Italy! Of course! Why didn't I think of that??? :-)

I think you both are right. I'm going to drop it. I will just have to bite my tongue again and wait.
