I was really excited when I found this Message Board.
Charleen is right, this board does have it's slow times. I hope you'll jump in and help get it back to one of it's busier times!
Do you currently AP or are you looking for some information? We look forward to getting to know you! :)

Wendy, I never knew what AP was until recently. I just parent by my instincts. So far that has included the whole breastfeeding, baby-wearing, co-sleeping deal. I originally came here to get some support on co-sleeping. So livid with the "your baby is old enough to STTN and must CIO" advice I kept getting even from my doctor.
I do have a VERY bad sleeper. Some of the support I've gotten from Loral and others on here was so helpful. Just knowing that I am not alone and that I am not ruining my child by sleeping with her and continuing to night nurse (and that yes, one day she WILL sleep) helps so much.
I could post questions every day on "this gets better, right?"
I am a complete novice on parenting, but I will try and jump in on the conversations when I can.
Oh, I've sooooo been there! My oldest's pediatrician told me I could turn him around in his car seat at 6 months old. We changed Ped's pretty quickly. ;-) I have to wonder if he's still telling people that. You just can't always trust what even the doctors say.
WTG on trusting your instincts! We're glad to have you here!
Yes it does get better, in part because you become savy enough, you realize STTN is one of the biggest crocks of, I mean is setting unrealistic expectations.
You're making my eyes sweat. :)
And you're no longer a novice at parenting--you've done this for almost a year now! So you'd better jump in; you've got good things for people. :)
Oh, and just so you know. Isabella is now 17.5 months old and about 75-80% of the time sttn from 7:30ish to 5 or 6. We did some gentle nightweaning when I couldn't take it anymore being newly pregnant. But she still is in her co-sleeper and welcome in our bed and still nurses. She doesn't nurse herself to sleep for night-time and rarely for naps nowadays. In fact, naps this week I've had to loosely hold her while she cried because she was so tired but so wanting to move around. But once I gave up the fight, sleep became much easier.
I can't wait to hear more about how well Jane is doing, even if it's just sleeping 2-3 hours in a row. That is sheer bliss, those nights where you get more than 45 minutes straight, lol.
It is one of the slower boards. There are unfortunatley not that many of us (or maybe their all just doing really well and it's a good thing!)
I have been MIA the last few days as well with work being crazy. I would like to post something on the new baby boards just to let the word out though. I will try to do that very soon.
We're glad you're here though! :-)
