This is a good article although I disagree with the individual who said that timeouts and 1-2-3 don't work, they work pretty well for us. I usually am very good about keeping the calm cool voice but I admit I have yelled. I always feel awful when I do though!

thanks for the article. my LO is only 10 months old so i havent been in the position to yell at him but i have seen his reaction if i shout at DH (not often) and he has a look of concern/ fear.

i dont think yelling is something that can be totally avoided though. of course i live in a country where shouting is more accepted so maybe im just used to it. people shout at each other all the time here, especially in public.

I have gotten terrible with yelling. I hate it and I'm trying really hard to not yell - it's horrible :(
