Just Got Baby Bjorn-Good Choice????

Hi. I just got the baby bjorn carrier for my three month old DS. He used to be very fussy till I started using the attachment parenting style which is breastfeeding, co-sleeping, and baby wearing!! He is so happy now all the time :)

I realized that nobody here is talking about the Baby Bjorn. I thought it was so popular. I walk around carrying my DS in it everywhere and need to rest my shoulder every hour or so. I would like to know if anyone here has the baby bjorn and what your experience is and how long did you wear it for???

Thank you for your help

Hi Sara,
we have a baby bjorn, it was a shower gift, and I used it a lot for shopping, because
I could have both hands free, whereas with the sling, I felt I had to support my daughter's back with one hand. I haven't used it so much recently though, it was pulling on my shoulders quite a bit as Heidi is getting heavier, and I am small framed. She 5 months now. Otherwise I found it to be a good carrier, and DH liked it too. I am using another carrier now, because I wanted a back carrier for the summer, and this one was available used, and slightly cheaper!

One thing I want to pass on to you, make sure the straps criss cross LOW on your back, it's much more comfortable that way!

My DS didn't like any of the slings I tried, but he really enjoyed the Bjorn. It got to be that he'd get excited when he saw me put it on. I used it all the time, especially for shopping. We were able to use it until about 8 months, and then he seemed to get too heavy for it to be comfortable.

We really liked the Bjorn (baby, daddy and I) and used it until DD outgrew it. Now we use a sling (which we did sometimes before, too) and a Hip Hammock. All worked well!

Hi Sara,

Our Baby Bjorn saved us during the five months that DS had colic. It was great, but he outgrew it and it began to hurt my back as he got a little bigger. I think you will enjoy yours.

Hi Sara,
right now I'm using an ergo carrier, I paid $71 for it used, new it is $89. I got it from www.myfavoritebabycarrier.com, but there are several websites that sell it if you do a search on google.

I absolutely adored my Baby Bjorn, and I am looking forward to using it again. We have two slings that we're also hoping to use, but I can guarantee the BB will be in heavy rotation. I want to get better at the other slings because I yearn to breastfeed while walking. I think that would be so cool and really help out with my life. If it doesn't work, however, I know I've got my trusty Baby Bjorn ready and willing to do the job. I really love it. In fact, I think I'll give it a clean now and give it some routine maintenance. :)
