Thank you all for you sweet comments and suggestions :) I will find out about the slings suggested, because the hotsling really didn't work out.
I did email the owner, and she suggested a size 4, which turned out to be too large. Delaney really liked it for the few minutes she was in it though, she would definitley enjoy being a 'worn' baby, lol. And even in five minutes, it was really killing my neck and back.

I don't know if I should give up on the idea of babywearing for now because of the back/neck problems- I don't really want to keep buying slings and returning them if they don't work out. Someone suggested the Mei Tei, which does look nice. If I get my sewing machine operational again, I might try to make one.

One last question- what do you do about diaper bags? I had the baby out the other day in the stroller, and I'm able to drape the diaper bag over the handles, which really saves me the strain of carrying it. How do you manage carrying both the baby and the diaper bag, or do you just do without it?

Thank you all, it's definitley been interesting to find out about all of the different types of slings out there, I'm recommending them to all new moms I meet :)

edit to add: here's a picture I took of Delaney and I with her in the NoJo, you can't really see the sling very well, but the general idea is there. She liked being carried in it, but I didn't like adjusting it 300 times whenever I wore it, lol:

Both my Maya Wrap sling and Ergo have a pocket for a diaper and wipes or whatever small essentials I need.

Hi

My diaper bag is pretty small, it's my handbag which is the size of a small tote. I have one change of clothes (t-shirt and shorts), 1 diaper, 1 pack of wipes and 1 small packet of tissue paper, and since ds started solids, a small bottle of water and a little container filled with little bites for him. sometimes i also slip in a bib and a little spoon if we're having dinner and i want to feed him more substantial stuff and if i remember, 1 teether (he's gumming everything!). other than the baby's stuff i only have my wallet and mobile and a comb. the bag is real small and even dd (3yo) can carry it for me, lol!

You're such a GREAT nanny!
