First of all, I don't see a failure. I see crochet! WOOT WOOT! and I'll bet it is thick and if you've used it, it works, right? You made it! You made it all yourself! you taught yourself the stitch, Now, it's time to teach yourself gauge and tension. You can do with a little more practice. And if you're going to ask Grammy to work with the boys, may she'd also share a few tips and tricks with you!

Girl, we need to talk! LOL if you have a xryon and a cricut -- and a computer you've already got the tools.

Sadly, I have a Circut and two Xyron machines.... They did want to learn how to crochet when I was trying to teach myself. I pretty much failed but I have this lovely, thick as all get out, hour glass figured washcloth for all my efforts.

I've told them that they need to ask their Grammy how to crochet ;-)

die cuts -- girl! find a friend who has a machine and can cut shapes and design things that interest them I'll bet they'd love to decorate the covers of a few of those notebooks -- either in paper or vinyl and once they start, you won't be able to stop them! Then it will be window clings and who knows what! LOL

(who said they have to use glue? that's where you invest in a little nifty machine by Xyron -- it makes stickers 1 1/2 inches up to 5 or 9 inches wide depending on the model and no one gets messy!) :) ( Oh, and if it's vinyl, it already has the self-stick on it! how cool is that? - and yes, you can layer the colors too)

LOL Sorry, Jan but you are soooooo not talking about my boys! Glue on their hands? Heaven forbid! Tape, markers, craftiness period? Sometimes I wish I had little girls. I love crafts!! {Lightbulb moment} Maybe I'll decorate their notebooks for them! Okay, maybe not ;-)

BTW, I wouldn't give up my boys for the world!

Uhhh, in about 4 years, lol. Quinn won't be able to start school until he's almost 6 here. The b-day cut off is Sept 1st and his b-day is the 15th. Doesn't worry me though, I know I can come up with stuff for him to do that is school like if he needs the challenge.
