The high school has an 8th grade activity night, where the 8th graders are invited to come in and see some of the sports and clubs that they can do as freshman.

I told my DS about this after I read your post on the 10-14 year old board about this. He said that the 8th graders do have a day where they visit the high school but he isn't sure what all it entails- I hope they do something like this. It sounds like a great idea to let students know what all their options are.
That's amazing your DD is in theatre, band, 6 clubs and 2 sports!! I don't know how you do it- I already feel like a mom taxi and my kids are younger and involved in less activities (so far, lol). Kudos to you! :smileyhappy:
