Lizzie passed her test and got her drivers license yesterday.  I'm so proud of her because I know how scared she was to drive after wrecking my car 3 weeks after getting her permit.  It took her a bit longer because of our bad winter last winter and working through her fear but she did it.  Also the day that she took her test it was pouring down rain.....she hates rain and was a bit scared of it....the kid before her failed his test, and another kid from Mexico wasn't permitted to take his test as he did not have anyone with him with a US license.  (some weird state regulation)......anyhow she kept her focus and did well....even with the parallel parking and nailed it on the first try!  We have to get her on the insurance so she can't drive alone until after Monday.....but I know that day is coming.....and I know that I'll be watching the car until it goes away into the distance.......it's a mom thing.....LOL!!

I'm so proud of her doing this!

That is great. I know how scarey it is when they drive off by themselves. My ds just got his permit the other week. My dd got her motorcycle and that license over a year ago. That is truely nervewracking!!!

I can't imagine.........driving a motorcycle!!  She did scare me last week......she left to drive to youth group, and Dave was out of town so I was carless......we live in a very populated area with tons of traffice......she is supposed to call me when she gets to her destination.  She forgot......After 15 minutes or so I started calling and she didn't answer her phone, respond to texts.....so I started sending her e-mails, and onine messsages to people who are in her youth group.....she saw my e-mail when she went to use her online bible.....called me and asked if there was a problem....about 25 - 30 minutes late.  Talked with her when she got home and she said that she wasn't used to calling.....I told her that I wasn't used to her driving my car alone either so we both had to make some changes.  She was to call....or I would be taking away her keys for the next week and driving her around....I think she got the message!

The first few trips are nerve wracking!! After a while, you only get a call if something goes wrong. The motorcycle does not thrill me but 70 miles to the gallon and $180 a year to insure fits a college students bill.
