Anyone hear of sex braclets!! *m*

Ok ladies I just started coaching a cheerleading squad. I noticed that some of the girls were wearing these rubber braclets. I noticed that they are really just jelly braclets that madonna wore in the 80's. They call them sex braclets eaach color represents a different sexual act(orange means kiss red means open mouth kiss blue is oral sex and black is intercourse!!!) These braclets are causing such a stir that schools are banning them! So to wrap up this post do you ladies let your girls wear them, do you think the schools are overeacting, and do you think these girls are actually going through with this little game??

My dd had some of them and I thought they were harmless rubber bracelets (my kids are homeschooled so we are not *up* on the latest things) until I saw something about them on TV. Lots of the girls on her gym team had them(all very young girls)

Hey Shelby -

I have heard some news stories about these, but the kids in my 'hood didn't even know what the colors supposedly meant, they just thought the bracelets were neat. I think the news story on Dateline ruined it for a lot of kids - even the kids they interviewed were surprised that the colors had an alleged meaning. It also caused parents to over react, in MHO.

I am totally open-mouthed shocked! I have never heard of these bracelets. I am now frantically searching for these rubber bracelets in my girls' things. I have no idea what y'all are talking about. I wont let my girls wear them if I find such things.

I doubt most girls know what the colors "mean". I doubt most girls are participating in the game.

I have never heard of this either. I am VERY disgusted. My dd is too young of course to be wearing these, but she will NEVER wear them when she is old enough.

I've only heard of them on TV. I don't think we have them up here in the north. LOL Or maybe you just can't see them under the mitten. :-) I am quite sure that most kids have no clue about what they mean and it is adults who came up with the scenario and are projecting it onto kids. However, now that the information is out there you can't take it back. My DD has none and I've never seen any kids wearing any here. I wouldn't buy her any though because of the press.

I was just as shocked as everyone else! I couldn't believe that these girls were wearing these things!! I'm not really sure if they know what they mean but I really hope they don't actual do these things. Its crazy!

p.s. I hope nobody was offended by this post.

I don't find this offensive at all. I want to know this kind of thing. I'm trying to stay/get some what "in touch" with certain things. My boys are older and it really doesn't seem as though I had to worry about this kind of thing with them but WOW, it's a whole new world with my girls. You keep right on informing us about this stuff. I want to make sure I'm prepared.
